St Martin's Hustings 2017

Just before half term, the Year 6 children from St Martin's, Marlbrook and Little Dewchurch had the opportunity to take part in a Hustings event hosted at our school. Learning about the democratic process and the issues involved with the election, the children came up with questions to ask the candidates for Hereford and South Herefordshire Constituency. The event gained quite a lot of attention with children being intervoewed for botht the Hereford Times and BBC Hereford and Worcester Radio.

After a very interesting event the children went to the polling station and we held our own mock election.

The results were:

Jim Kenyon (independent) = 52 votes

Diana Toynbee (Green Party) = 26 Votes

Anna Coda (Labour) = 10 votes

Lucy Hurds (Liberal Democrats) = 3 votes

Jesse Norman (Conservatives) = 2 votes
